History
In 2000 just as the musical industry was beginning its inevitable freefall, I started record label with fellow
musician Jarad Astin. Throughout the first decade of the 21st century, we scrambled to write, record, produce, mix, master, release, and promote our music. Along the way we developed a great working relationship with producer/musician Kyle Jones and in 2008 formed The CueZone Brotherhood AKA Cuebro. Together we have recorded and released over 20 albums honing and crafting our skills. As musicians whose musical roots date back to the 1980's, we understand the more traditional, tape driven studios as well as the everchanging landscape of the digital paradigm. From pre-production to final mastering touches we can help you get through this process.
Analogue Beginnings
The world of studio record has always fascinated me ad I have been lucky enough to spend many years recording in studios big and small for almost twenty years now. Growing up I still remember my first recording experience at Coupe Studios in Boulder, CO. Back then the studio was in a converted chicken coupe with a tiny control room and a 4 track tape deck. My fifth grade teacher brought us down to record two songs with a small ensemble a few friends and I had started called The Generics. We recorded a Boogie Woogie tune and the classic blues standard, Kansas City. After that I was hooked. I've been lucky to record in many nice studios before the emergence of digital recording but now I too live in the world of the project studio.
The Digital Age
I've been working with ProTools since the late 1990's and just in the last two years made the jump to Logic. I have many talented musician friends who have similar spaces and I started thinking about the idea of setting up a virtual session world where we record and share music via the internet. I'm also lucky enough to have started a business with kyle Jones who owns a very nice space in Denver CO that we do all of our back end work out of. So these days, we spend a lot of time shuffling session files back and forth through email and ftp sites and ultimately to Kyle where he makes it shine.
