<p>&nbsp;First, I threw together a cut, improvising a vocal track over some beats, then I threw the vocal part into a sampler that spliced short phrases that could then be triggered on my Midi controller (keyboard). Then I hit record and played back the sampled vocals on the keyboard percussively. I called it Electromagnet, here's that Cut:</p>
<p><object height="81" width="100%"> <param name="movie" value="http://player.soundcloud.com/player.swf?url=http%3A%2F%2Fapi.soundcloud.com%2Ftracks%2F8506733&amp;show_comments=true&amp;auto_play=false&amp;color=6e0609"></param> <param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param> <embed allowscriptaccess="always" height="81" src="http://player.soundcloud.com/player.swf?url=http%3A%2F%2Fapi.soundcloud.com%2Ftracks%2F8506733&amp;show_comments=true&amp;auto_play=false&amp;color=6e0609" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="100%"></embed> </object> <span><a href="http://soundcloud.com/ben-senterfit/electromagnet">Electromagnet</a> by <a href="http://soundcloud.com/ben-senterfit">Ben Senterfit</a></span></p>
<p>&nbsp; Then I uploaded my Logic session and the new sampled sounds to my man Jacob Sanders AKA Whalehawk who took what I did and completely turned it on its head. Here's what he came up with:</p>
<p><object height="81" width="100%"> <param name="movie" value="http://player.soundcloud.com/player.swf?url=http%3A%2F%2Fapi.soundcloud.com%2Ftracks%2F12238033&amp;show_comments=true&amp;auto_play=false&amp;color=0f0f0f"></param> <param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param> <embed allowscriptaccess="always" height="81" src="http://player.soundcloud.com/player.swf?url=http%3A%2F%2Fapi.soundcloud.com%2Ftracks%2F12238033&amp;show_comments=true&amp;auto_play=false&amp;color=0f0f0f" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="100%"></embed> </object> <span><a href="http://soundcloud.com/whalehawk/electromagnetic">ElectroMagnetic</a> by <a href="http://soundcloud.com/whalehawk">WhaleHawk</a></span></p>
<p>Each one of us spent a single night working on our cuts. Love to hear your thoughts!</p>
